This is our third one day online course for anyone starting out in motor design. If you’re a new graduate, an experienced ICE engine designer starting work on electric vehicles, or an old hand looking for a refresher, this course will give you the basics. Leading cross-discipline experts from many different companies will teach the basics and speak from their own experiences gained over many years.

Course content

• Basics in magnetics, magnetic measurements, and magnetising

• Overview on magnetic materials, both hard and soft magnetic materials

• General principles of electrical machines and control

• Modelling electrical machines

NB The course is generously supported by the speakers’ organisations; as such they will be using their own tools and processes as appropriate. Other tools and consultancies are available, but we are grateful to the speakers for their support.
